What Causes Lightheadedness, Neck Pain And Ringing In The Ears?

I have been experiencing periodic lightheaded feeling along with neck and shoulder tightness/ pain - ear hissing . Had a complete physical yesterday , and full blood work done prior to visit . All blood/ urine test results were normal to good as was the exam. Stiffness was indicated and an injection of Novocain to a knot in shoulder was administered for relief. Should I seek a specialist ?

Hello,

Yes, you should definitely consult neurologist and ENT doctor. We need to rule out brain and inner ear pathology for your symptoms.

You will need MRI brain (to rule out brain pathology) and examination of ear (to rule out inner ear pathology). If all these are normal then possibility of stress and anxiety related symptoms is more likely.

So avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm. Consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions. Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on its solution.

You may need anxiolytic drugs too.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
