Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello sometimes when I stand up from sitting my heart rate will increase and I will have a quick episode of lightheadedness I have a panic disorder but I have kept it under control I still get kinda anxious and I have blood test done and cholesterol just to get them check and they are all normal I would just like to know what this could be. I'm not overweight I don't smoke and I am 25yrs old
I would advise you to get the following blood tests done like, Hemoglobin, TSH, blood glucose levels, Vitamin B12 , Vitamin D levels, and serum electrolytes. Abnormalities in any one of the above can present with symptoms you are currently experiencing. Also get your blood pressure checked in the sitting and standing position, sometimes there could be a postural drop in blood pressure. If all tests come back as normal, be reassured that symptoms are due to anxiety. Stress free techniques, like yoga, relaxation exercises should be practised. While standing from sitting position, do so gradually.
Hope this information was helpful to you .
