What Causes Lip Soreness Despite Using Steroid Creams?

Hi doctor. I ve been having a sore on my lip that hasn t healed for a about a week or so. I ve known to have eczema but this sore is oozing and doesn t react to steroid creams. It seems to have taken an indent shape in the form of a tadpole on my lip.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that a sore over the lip that is oozing and has not got better with steroid can be due to bacterial infection leading to a pus oozing sore..

I would suggest you to start cleaning it with betadine solution and apply Triple Antibiotic Ointment over it..
You can also do cool compresses over it to reduce inflammation..
If there is pain you can also add numbing gel containing Lignocaine over it..

But in case if it still does not resolve consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like culture of the discharging fluid can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
