What Causes Little Blood In The Urine During Pregnancy?

I am 28 weeks pregnant and did a urine test that showed that I had a trace of blood in my urine. They sent a sample to be cultured and came back negative for any infection. Can the pressure of the baby pushing down on my bladder cause there to be a small amount of blood in the urine? My doctor does not seem worried about it but I am nervous. Thanks!

Hello ma'am and welcome.

A light streak of blood during pregnancy is seen quite often and is considered normal as your reproductive system is undergoing several changes, especially to do with expansion. If at all infection and a hormonal imbalance is ruled out then there should be nothing else to worry about ma'am.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
