What Causes Little Patches On Tongue?

Ok so I have these little patches on my tongue and I ve done a little bit of research and they look similar to canker sores but they don t hurt. I have no sores on the outside of my mouth so I don t think it is herpes but I m still a little worried. They re only on the very tip of my tongue and on the side.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain small patches on the tongue tip and sides of the tongue cthat are painless can be due to inflamed and swollen tongue papillae that contains taste buds and it can be due to a number of causes like Nutritional deficiency like deficiency of Iron, folic acid and vitamin B 12, Stress, Hormonal changes, mouth trauma, allergic reactions, acid reflux etc..

You can do warm saline gargles.
Gargle with dilute hydrogen peroxide solution..
Take a tablet of multivitamins for a period of 15 days..
Avoid spicy and citrus foods..
Drink plenty of water to maintain hydration..
Suck ice pops..
In case of no improvement in a week consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
