What Causes Little Purple Spots On The Thigh?

I have little purple spots of different sizes on my inner thigh. They look like little spots of blood like tiny broken blood vessels. The areas were itching under my jeans and when I changed clothes I noticed the spots. Could they just be little broken vessels from scratching too hard or something else?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi, Greetings from HCM. There are several causes for purple spots in the body.
varicose vains can produce small spider vains on the thigh.Another cause may be due to inferior venacaval which can produce dialated vains in the leg and thigh. This can produce minor itching and produce haemorrhage under the skin which later turns to purple spots .If your skin is too soft scratcing too hard can produce tearing of small blood vessels and turn to purple sports.Another causes if you are taking anticoagulants and the dosage become high it will produce purple sports in the skin. You have to rule out some causes like purpura.
