What Causes Liver Lesions?

had an ultrasound a year ago. then another one this year. found out this year i have liver lesion..which was there last year but was not informed. I was told it is growing and have pain on my right side. My doctor is sending me for a MRI and another ultrasound to see if the lesion is growing. My question is..what could this be?

Hi.

These can be various types of cysts, benign lesions, focal nodular hyperplasia, various asymptomatic lesions, etc. The list of causes cannot be predicted which is why an MRI was recommended. Either way, I am sure you would have found out by now.
