What Causes Locked Knees And Pain In The Hips?

I am having trouble with my knees. When I first get up, it seem like on the first time I get up, I can walk ten feet or so, and my knees begin to buckle. Usually my husband is there to catch me. This time he was working and I was at home alone. I feel on my left hip and did it hurt. I have a total left hip replacement. I am in lots of pain when I sit, only when I sit. Could I have just bruised it back or could something have broken?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Pain related to soft tissue injury tends to increase to a maximum within the first 1 to 3 days then plateau however if the pain is very severe then a fracture would need to be ruled out by imaging ( xray)

If you are moving around ok and there is no noticeable shortening of the limb with the most pain compared to the other, then a fracture is less likely

I hope this helps
