What Causes Loneliness And Mood Swings When Diagnosed With Depression?

My daughter is 23 years old. She has been diagnosed with depression. For the last 3 or 4 months she has been staying in her room , not talking to me or her dad. She is very moody. And only comes out to go to work and back in bed. She has also started to eat a lot. I m so worried about her. Yet she says she s not thinking about harming herself. I m still worried.
