What Causes Long Menstrual Cycle After Using Depo Shot?

I just had my son 3 months ago and I decided depo was my best option because I was on it before. I just got my first shot a month ago and 2 weeks after it I got my period. My cycle usually lasts about 4 days but this is now day 11 and I m still bleeding!! I m using tampons and they are now starting to irritate me and hurt! I have to use pads now which really sucks. I m just tired of bleeding! Its ruining my relationship and my mood. Is this normal?? Some of my friends stoped their period after getting depo and I m jealous! When will this happen to me?! Should I switch birth control? Please help!!

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, such excessive menses (Menorrhagia) possibly due to hormone changes and some time hormone therapy it self may be the cause of this as such you have taken the hormone shot just wait for some time and it will be okay, if not then you need to see the gynecologist, till then no need to have any hormone therapy, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
