What Causes Long Periods Followed By Abdominal Pain?

I had my last menstrual cycle may 1st however it was a rather unusual and long. I started spotting on the 1st and didn't really start the full cycle until 4 days later. My period did not end until 5/11. My period usually lasts 5 days this time it lasted double. Since then i have been experiencing lower abdominal pain when i wake up. It may last a short time or other times it will last all day. I had a miscarriage 10 years ago however i am not sure if i can get pregnant again. What advice can you offer on this?
