What Causes Loose Stool And Upset Stomach When Diagnosed With Hyperthyroidism?
I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism about 4 months ago (thyroidism). Lately (about 1 month), I have switched my diet to eating all real food (eggs, grass fed meats, salads, juicing, etc.). I ve been cutting out sugar and gluten. Recently I have been having very upset stomaches and having to use the restroom right after eating. It has been loose bowels. Is it my fiber intake with the diet, IBS or a thyroidism symptom? Thanks for the help!
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
Hyperthyroidism can cause an increased motility leading to diarrhea and malabsorption. Fiber rich diets can also cause diarrhea I suggest using an over the counter option for the diarrhea such as Imodium. I also suggest using a plain diet and drink liquids.
Hope my answer was helpful.
