What Causes Loose Testicles?

Hi I am a 55 year old male and i am concerned that within the last 2 years I noted that both my testicles are somewhat mushy or soft when i feel them. the left one was soft for a while, but recently I noticed the right one as well. however I produce a fair amount of sperm. Doc, can you give a possible cause for my condition? Is it due to age? or is it that there may be something more serious? thanks

It is best that you get an ultrasound examination of the scrotum and testes to see for the status. Please also get the semen examined for quantity and quality, that is the amount of sperms. At 55 years of age, usually testicular atrophy does not happen naturally. Once these investigations are done you should consult an Urologist for diagnosis and management, if there is any disease condition.
