What Causes Loss Of Appetite And Weakness While On Bactria?

My mother is 92 and this is her last day for taking Bactria. She is not feeling well today. A little weak, not very talkative and soft dark stool. Not her usual self. Lost of appetite too. What can be done to speed the process of getting this horrible drug out of her system.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The symptoms of loss of appetite and weakness, loose dark stool are secondary to side effects of Bactria.

- immediately stop further doses of Bactria and inform your doc office

- allow her more liquids in sessions

- addition of probiotics with lactobacillus content in drug basket

- follow the information and guidelines of your doc for replacement medication as per her clinical condition and demand.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
