What Causes Loss Of Appetite In A Polycystic Kidney Disease Patient?

I am a 55 year old woman on dialysis due to polycystic kidney disease. I have the following symptoms-the doctors can t seem to figure me out. 1.     Skin: bruise and get cuts and blood blisters easily. 2.     Lack of appetite-lost weight-under nourished. 3.     Hair falling out. 4.     Muscle weakness. Getting around very slowly-have a hard time getting up stairs. 5.     Shortness of breath upon exertion. 6.     Swollen legs, feet, ankles. 7.     Hard time sleeping-falling asleep at inappropriate times-at desk, standing up, driving….. 8.     No energy. Cannot get anything done. 9.     Spend hours on the toilet to have a bowel movement. 10.     Not finding any joy. Feeling like giving up. No confidence in the doctors-I don’t think they are or can help me. 11.     High blood pressure. 12.     Trouble concentrating on task at hand. 13.     Ascites.

Hello,

* There are a constellation of symptoms and various clinical reasons concerning separate body systems as heart, kidney, liver, immune system and others are responsible to cause them.

* Though your doc must have prescribed the necessary medications for your best recovery, I think the main reason is anemia secondary to erythropoietin deficiency in your case.

* There are recombinant erythropoietin injections are available in the market for such issues and the scope of this must be discussed with your treating nephrologist (if not already prescribed).

* Rest of the things as no feeling of joy are in concern with underlying possible depression and can be presented to an expert psychiatrist for treatment and counseling ahead.
