What Causes Loss Of Appetite In Elderly?
My uncle is 90. Has multiple health issues, such as gout, blood pressure, cholesterol, hard of hearing, and shingles. Is under the care of several doctors & takes medications. Recently got dentures. Mentally sharp, he does email daily. Lives in a 6-patient residential care home in Honolulu. Wants to know why his appetite is poor; eats barely enough to keep up his energy.

the loss of appetite could be brought about the age itself as you grow older the appetite tends to go low.
the other thing is the chronic diseases he is suffering from and the medications he is taking to control them also play a role in decreasing his appetite.
you can try to give him multivitamins supplements to increase his appetite so he can eat.
