Hi,

Augmentin contains both amoxicillin and clavulanic acid which is used to treat the symptoms of many different infections caused by bacteria such as lower respiratory tract infections, throat infection, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bacterial sinusitis, animal or human bite wounds, skin and soft tissue infections and many more. Augmentin may be prescribed alone or with other medications for better treatment. Augmentin can cause loss of appetite or anorexia in children during treatment with Augmentin. The most common side effects of Augmentin are anorexia, nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, gas, diarrhea, stomach pain, irritability, restlessness etc. Again, clavulanic acid can irritate the gut. For these side effects, your baby may lose appetite and become irritated. You should consult your baby's doctor promptly for medical attention. Despite of having side effects, don't stop giving this medication for your baby without consulting the prescribing doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
