What Causes Loss Of Appetite, nausea And Abdominal Discomfort While On Antibiotics?
My husband is on antibiotics for an infected bug bite but has some strange symptoms, loss of appetite, nausea; I can associate with drug but his right leg feels cold and clammy and his primary complaint is discomfort in lower right abdomen. He is sometimes breaking out in sweat and sleeping a lot and when not sleeping finds it difficult to sit still, reminds me of a woman in labor. Constantly walking and changing position. He is 73, has high blood pressure, lately in high 170's and is overweight. He is not a complainer but I am worried. Should we be at the emergency room?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain and presentation of symptoms your husband is suffering from adverse drug reaction with the antibiotics he is taking and it should be taken care of.. You should consult your treating doctor and get him evaluated so that he can change the antibiotics as well as advise him anti allergics and also monitoring his blood pressure should be done ..
You should stop his antibiotics and first contact your doctor..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
