What Causes Loss Of Balance While Walking After Head Injury?

3 months ago someone dropped a cast iron drainpipe from the scafolding onto my husbands head, he was un conscious for awhile and went to A&E, they gave him a sca, pain killers and sent him home, I took him back about 48 hrs later because he had double vision, pain and off balance, they gave him another scan and still said he was ok. Now he can stand without losing his balance, he can t walk in a straight line and goes of balance every few steps. He is waiting to see a neurologist but I m concerned the symptoms seem to be getting worse and they won t be able to do anything to improve this.

Hello,

Head injury has big impact on brain health and you are experiencing neurological symptoms. You need to consult a neurologist and a orthopedist for further evaluation and treatment. Till then walk with support when required.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
