What Causes Loss Of Bladder Control Inspite Of Suffering From Herniated Disc?

Why should I go see a dr. immediately or go to an ER? I have a herniated disc L5 S1, pain level 6 and now for 3 months or so having total loss of bladder control. A Physical Therapist told me to go see a doctor now and other info has indicated to seek medical care immediately. How are the 2 related? Thoughts?

Hi dear!

Thanks for consulting the Physicians at HealthCare Magic. I have worked through your case thoroughly, and I can easily realize your health worries. Being your physician, I reassure you not to worry as things will settle down very soon.
STRESS INCONTINENCE: - If you leak a bit when you laugh, cough, sneeze, jog, or lift something heavy, you may have stress incontinence. Stress incontinence happens when the muscles and tissue around the opening of the bladder get weak.
URGE INCONTINENCE: - If you often have a desperate need to pee but can't get to the bathroom in time, you may have urge incontinence. It's caused by Spasms of the bladder muscles due to nerve and muscle damage.
MEDICINES: - Blood pressure, water pills, antidepressants can cause or aggravate the problem.
CAFFEINE: - produces more urine and adds to the problem.

May you get very well soon and have a wonderful time ahead. Please don't forget to give your valuable starred feedback to help me assist you in a better way. Go to my profile to write a Review regarding your experience with me here at my Virtual clinic.
