What Causes Loss Of Fat And Muscle Mass?

I lost alot of fat and muscle mass more evident in the legs, over a short period of time . During that time I also was having high sugar levels and wonder is the body starts a process that burns fat and oxygen attacks muscle and over time damage can be done and the muscle tone is lost. I have constant fatique in my legs and have had to change my walking habits drastically due to lack of strength and stamina.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Dear Patient, yours appears to be a case of diabetes mellitus. Please get your blood sugar, lipid levels and blood pressure checked. Insulin resistence or low insulin levels lead to loss of weight, both fat and muscle mass along with malaise. another possibility in your case could be cushings syndrome. in case you also have features like increasing truncal fat, purple striae at the lower abdomen, easy bruising, do consider cushing's and get your serum cortisol levels at 8am checked.
