What Causes Loss Of Memory While On Anti Depressants?
i am losing my memory; will be 69 yrs old in December of this year. having problems learning new systems at work & my job is in jeopardy. I have taken anti depressants since approximately 40 years of age. i have a fib & take meds for that as well. also i am now a diabetic but maintain good A1C levels. 6.0 most every test. I am going to see a neurologist next week for help. i have problems in my back with discs & my doctor wants me to take prednisone. i am terrified this steroid will cause further mental damage. what should i do?

Well... it could be a coincidence. There are a lot of illnesses that cause ...frankly a distraction. Also, low blood sugar is often a cause of loss of memory and a lot of episodes of hypoglycemia is a risk factor for dementia.
Prednisone will not cause brain damage.
Anti depressants and also depression often cause memory problems.
