What Causes Loss Of Sensation For Hot And Cold?

I can't tell when a coffee is too hot or say ice cream is too cold.This is also very disturbing to me,I also have type 1 diabetics noropathy and wonder if this has anything to do with it. It started about 2 weeks ago when I notice it.My heart was pounding and i felt weird.
