hi my daughter is 9 and has suspected NMO / MS related illness. She has been having increasing loss of sensations. On monday she lost sensation from neck down but it returned . and she lost her speech . Today she he loss of feeling in legs from knees down and her arms as well. She sometimes get a warning like a buzzing or tingling but today she got a buzzing in her forehead and immediately lost her leg sensation , thankfully someone caught her but it is very odd! could this be a warning of a grand mal seizure coming on?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The loss of sensation in arms and legs with speech impairment indicates possible issue with cerebral circulation or neurochemical mediators level disturbances which may or may not end up in seizures. After thorough neurologic examination, I do recommend a CT scan or MRI brain for further detailed analysis and frame out management protocols based on that only.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
