What Causes Loss Of Sense Of Smell/taste After Having Parathyroid Surgery?

I have lost my sense of smell and have a decreased sense of taste. At the time that I noticed this, I had just had parathyroid surgery and had a severe respiratory infection. I had also just started a new medication, Celebrex. Could any of these things cause this problem?

Hello

The loss of taste and smell is likely to be due to the respiratory infection and not the surgery. Please dont worry as this is likely to recover in a few weeks or so.

Thanks
