What Causes Loss Of Smell Sense?

Am 24 years old, I don't smoke or take alcohol. I have a problem of not smelling for the past year. I usually swllow mucus and my throat is very dry. i have tried taking citrizine which some doctors recommended. It worked but after two days, I could not smell.
I kindly need help.

Understanding your concern. As per your query have loss of smell sense . It could be due to nerve damage such as facial nerve damage or oral infection , upper respiratory track infection , dental infection or viral pharyngitis . . In certain cases it resolves its own and do not last for much time. Take calcium rich tablet till them, your symptoms will get resolve soon. I would suggest you to visit your ENT specialist and get your labs done. Doctor may prescribe anti inflammatory along with nerve supplement and antibiotics. Doctor may also refer you to neurologist in case of nerve damage .
