What Causes Loss Of Smell?
I have noticed in the last few months I have a diminished sense of smell. In particular, we were looking at a house to buy and my husband and agent couldn t go in the house because of the cat urine smell. We have gone to the house for the third time and I don t smell the cat urine. Then tonight taking a walk, we went by an area that my husband and son smelled like a dead animal. I couldn t smell it. I am 60, healthy, take no medications, have not had a cold or virus.

I really appreciate your concern, if this is allergic condition that might cause the swelling of inner part of nose called olfactory area then this could cause such symptoms that person loss the sense of smell for some time, still better to have ENT opinion, till the try steam inhalation and antihistamine hope this helps, take care and have a nice day.
