What Causes Loss Of Taste While On Augmentin And Zyrtec?
My husband has been taking augmentin and zyrtec since Wednesday to clear up a URI. He is 75. He will barely eat, saying nothing tastes right. He couldn t eat/drink: banana, beef stew, mashed potatoes, grilled cheese, cream of potato soup, chicken noodle soup, Coke, scrambled egg, and more. I don t see taste changes as a side effect of either medication. Any ideas?

Hi;
Anti-histaminic medications sometimes cause appetite changes. If URI is resolving, he may benefit from ceasing Zyrtec. However; I strongly recommend finishing antibiotic therapy.
