What Causes Loss Of Taste ?

i have lost my ability to taste food. i can tell that something is sour or spicy, but i cannot detect sweet or salty. i can smell fine, I can t taste flavors of food. When I eat any kind of meat or something really sweet, even though I can t taste it, the food comes right back up and causes me to vomit. how do I get my ability to taste back?

Hi,
Thanks for posting the query,

This could be due to depapillation of the tongue, i would suggest you to get a course of multivitamin suplements at least for a month, maintain a good oral hygiene, at home take lukewarm saline and antiseptic mouthwash rinses, if there are any GIT disturbances get it checked by a Physician.

Hope you find this as helpful,

Take care!
