What Causes Lot Of Dizziness After Reducing The Cymbalta Dosage?

I just had my dosage of Cymbalta lowered from 60mg to 30m g.. Its been about 9 days.. As of yesterday, Ive been experiencing a lot of dizziness. I also began my period yesterday as well. I am 50yrs old and still have my periods regularly.. Im concerned about the dizziness.. I almost fell today. Ist his normal?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. You were taking Cymbalta or Duloxetine and has reduced its doses rapidly that is from 60 mg to 30 mg and this has probably causes withdrawal symptoms. The dizziness, feeling like you will fell down are occurring most likely due to withdrawal symptoms. In most cases the doses should be reduced by 20-25% every two weeks and should be tapered completely at around 6-8 weeks. As you have persistent dizziness since last 9 days I would advise you to consult your doctor for these withdrawal symptoms. Though there is no serious risk still in my opinion low dose benzodiazepine drugs as Clonazepam, Alprazolam etc would help to reduce the symptoms of withdrawal. Visit a doctor for proper evaluation.
