What Causes Low BP And Lack Of Appetite When Diagnosed With Liver Enlargement?

My wife is 46 year old teacher. She has liver problem the scan report says it is an enlarged one. She had undergone Hysterectami and then chemotherapy 6 years back. She also has Hypo thyroid problem. Now a days, her body temperature seems to be low. Though she eat very small her abdomin expands abnormally some time it seems normal in size. The liver problem was there after she had undergone chemotherapy but the problem is increasing overtime. Her doctor recommended Live50 tablets she feel uneasy when she take the same. I don t know how we could regain her health. Looking forward to hear good suggestions

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, he needs to have liver function tests as simple liver enlargement can be due to fatty liver disease or fats deposition in liver however functional capacity of liver should be determined as well as any structural damage based on ALT as AST as well as bilirubin.

In such rise it may cause decreased appetite etc and may need treatment accordingly.

Also albumin and INR should be determined. Meanwhile she can continue using live50 or siliveramine. If so workup of liver serologies, as well as work up of autoimmune hepatitis may be needed. A gastroenterologist review may be helpful.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
