Hi. I drank heavily for a few years in my early 20 s. Today I had bloodwork done and a urine panel. Only abnormalities were BUN to creatinine ratio: BUN 4, Creatinine 0.5, so a ratio 8:1. I was advised this was unimportant because all other results, AST, ALT, Bilirubin, Albumin, protein etc. were normal. AST to ALT ratio normal as well. Reading online the low BUN to creatinine ratio can be an indicator or cirrhosis. I have read the liver enzymes and other aforementioned lab results may come back ideal and one may still have some form of liver disease or cirrhosis. Is it realistically possible this BUN creatinine ratio can indicate liver problems worth investigating in the absence of other blood and urine abnormalities? I am obese, 200 lbs. at 5 5 and 29 year old female. Thank you.
