What Causes Low Appetite, Weight Loss And Stomach Problems In A Cancer Patient?
Yes, thank you, I have been undergoing chemo for cancer, have 1 treatment left in Feb. I was told I am now cancer free, I do have Hep c which I am going to start treatment. My question is why or what is causing me to have so much difficulty with my stomach.. My appetite is down, I feel hungry but when I eat it comes back up. I have lost weight. I get sick to stomach all the time..I have taken nausa meds to no avail..Had no sickness with chemo..Have had x-rays of stomach it shows nothing...
The best way to examine the stomach is through an endoscopy which consists of a tube with a camera that enters the stomach from the mouth.
Because you are having these symptoms and medications do not seem to help it might be a good idea to have an upper endoscopy called gastroesophageal endoscopy to better view the stomach mucosa and make sure all is well with it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
