Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For over 20 years, I have suffered from symptoms of low throid, depression, moodswings, anxiety, insomnia, slow metablism and difficult keeping weight off and gaining it too easy, fatique even when I do sleep, and strouble focusing. I have had my thyroid check like 3 times and the tests always came back normal. I also had my hormones checked and told I have low estrogen and testostrone though the doctor didn t want to give me hormones. My question is Are the throid tests wrong?
The thyroid tests if done 3 times should not be wrong. But I would advice you to get TBG (Thyroid Binding Globulin) tested as it is not included in basic Thyroid Profile. Increased levels of TBG can cause similar problems. Apart from this, you should also get fasting blood glucose test, Hba1c. Iron levels too could be low.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Agrim Chawla, General & Family Physician
