What Causes Low Grade Fever And A Lump In The Throat?
I have had a low grade fever for 5 days. I have what feels like a lump in my throat when I swallow but the throat is not sore all the time. When I touch the side of my neck where I feel the lump when I swallow it is tender. I have had a mild headache with some body aches mainly in the neck and shoulder area. I feel better today than I did last Thursday and Friday but am not feeling my normal self.

What Causes Low Grade Fever And A Lump In The Throat?
Hi, Your problem can be due to a sore throat and lymph node enlargement. But better to get it examined by ENT specialist to rule out abscess(collection of puss). I would suggest antibiotics like Co amoxiclav twice daily for 7 to 10 days in such case. Gargling with warm saline is also recommended. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Nishad BN, General & Family Physician
