General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
It seems the antibiotics given were not effective or given for a insufficient time so the infection is not yet controlled. In such conditions I would ask for a culture and sensitivity test of sputum and X-ray chest. This would clear the picture and proper line of treatment can be decided as per physical examination / status demands. Please consult your physician in this concern.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
