What Causes Low Grade Fever And Lymph Node Swelling Behind The Ear?
My 30 year old daughter has been running a low grade fever for several weeks. She has a swollen lymph node on her head near the top of her ear, and has been losing weight - possibly as much as 15 lbs. Blood work has shown low lymphocytes and a low to normal WBC. She recently had a UA, which showed ketones, bacteria and blood in her urine, although she had experienced no symptoms of a UTI. She started on Macrobid just a couple of days ago, and has not shown any improvement. She is always tired, but she works full time and parents 3 young children, so she is always on the run. I d welcome any suggestions.
Yes, that is not good for active mother of 3. The lymph mode of the ear show that there is infection some where and explains fever and fatigue. It is necessary to do some tests. Full haemogram to confirm or file out bacterial infection and the reason for low to normal WBCs. Run several viral disease screen and other tropical diseases. (This depends on geographical area or recent visit). All said and done Analgesics and antibiotic cover is necessary. Visit your GP for advise.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
