Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Low Grade Fever And Rash On The Body After Taking Cephalexin?
Hi I recently was in ED for nausea I, vomiting, abdominal cramping and was diagnosed with acute cystitis. I took Cephalexine for a week and am feeling better. However, I still have chills, low grade fever mainly in e evening, and have a blustery rash scattered on my body. I assume it s a reaction to the medication but not sure what to do
The rash may be a reaction to the medication but not the fever and chills. Fever and chills imply a lingering infection. In light of the fever and chills, it is also possible that the rash is also related to an infection since this is one of the symptoms of some types of infections. It would be best to be reviewed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care.
Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
