What Causes Low Grade Fever Followed By Night Sweats And Chills?

I just had two days of a low grade fever with night sweats and chills I now have a rash on my face and bottom of feet my fever broke this morning and am better in that respect went to Doctor ruled out strep says it is probably viral my my fingertips are very sensitive and look like they could be forming some of the same bumps as the rash any advice or just ride it out am 34 male and a little weirded out as I have never had this kind of reaction from being sick before.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of low grade fever followed by night sweats and chills which seems to be due to viral infection. Low grade fever is because your immunity is lower down because of infection. Need not to worry much as antibiotics will not give much relief to you as yours symptoms are more like viral infection. You should take paracetamol to prevent fever and combination of decongestants and multivitamin tablet. You should take rest properly. Your symptoms will resolve in 5-7 days. Avoid touching eyes, nose again and again as it will spread infection. If your symptoms keeps on persisting the visit general physician and get blood tests adone and start treatment accordingly.
