What Causes Low Growth Rate In Fetus During Pregnancy?

hello drs lm pregnant in my 29 gw and my dr told me that my baby is too small due to high resistant on the umblical cord and he prescribed betamethasone inj. Im wondering if this issue is so common and what is the expected results and what the reasons for this. Thanks alott

Hi, thanks for writing..
It is not a common problem.. It means there is decresed blood flow to the fetus which causes these problems.. You need to get your bp checked.. Yes betnesol injection helps in fetal lung maturity in case early delivery needs to be planned.. Dont worry.. Follow up with doppler study weekly.. If there is a reversal of flow at any point, delivery needs to be planned.. Since you have crossed 29 weeks baby can be saving by keeping in NICU.. Hope I have answered your query.. Good day..
