What Causes Low Heart Rate After Breast Augmentation Surgery?

Hi, I am 61 years old. In good health. 5 ft 3 inches and weigh 127 pounds. I just had breast augmentation 5 days ago. I had a very difficult time coming out of anesthesia. It took about 10 hours and they had used reversal drugs and that didn t help. My heart rate was down to 40 beats per minute. Just curious about the different factors that might cause this.

You may have an inherently lower heart rate. For example, most people with athletic background or past history have lower heart rate.

If it's not causing you symptoms or if it's not associated with any cardiac arrhythmia (which can be found out by a simple 12 lead ECG), you can relax.
