What Causes Low Heart Rate During A Colonoscopy?

During my Colonoscopy 3 days ago, my heart rate dropped to 30 I think when they stimulated my colon. The Dr. had to inject me with something to try and get it back to normal. I never had any heart problems Or any history of heart problems. They took an E. K. G. and want me to see a Cardiologist. I am still trying to figure out what happened. Would you have any idea of what would cause something like that to happen?
