What Causes Low Lying Placenta And UTI During Pregnancy?

hello, im on 19 weeks 2 day pregnant, and lately found out that im on a low lying placenta with UTI, recently I was confined because of bleeding so the doctor prescribe cefuroxime for 2 weeks, duphaston 3 times a day at duvadilan evry 6 hrs for 2weeks, i wonder if all those medicine had a side effects, untill now i am worried as used to have spotting evry morning

Thanks for your query.
Read and understood your concerns; there are 2 in number:
1. Low lying placenta : this occurs due to low implantation of the ovum during pregnancy, the placenta obviously develops where the fertilized egg is implanted. Nothing can be done except some medicines that your Gynecologist has advised you. Duphastone and Duvadilan are very safe medicines, hence nothing to worry about it.
2. Another issue is UTI : this is common to occur during progressive pregnancy and Cefuroxime again is very safe drug during this period of pregnancy of 19 + weeks.
Again, the most important is the balance between the safety of the patient and the baby and the effects of any medicines given during this periods.
