What Causes Low Platelet And White Blood Cell Count?
I am 70 years old have a low platelet count and white blood cell count and developing sensitivity to the sun. My skin turns red after short periods of time in the sun, and goes away about an hour after getting out of the sun.Could it possibly be lupus.

It can be lupus-like autoimmune disease presentation.
So it's better to investigate with ANA estimation for primary work up.
The CBC needs to be repeated after one week if no symptoms just now. If it remains persistently low than further workup needed.
