What Causes Low Testosterone Levels And Elevated ALT Levels?

I just got back a blood panel and there were 2 things of concern. My testosterone is at 263 and my liver ATL is at 49. I bring those up because the original reason I went to the doctor was for constipation. Any chance my liver is damaged because I am not emptying my bowel everyday?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
The normal range of testosterone levels in healthy adult males is between 280 to 1,100 ng/dL. Your value of 263 is marginally low and hence you need not be worried much about it.
ALT level of 49 U/L is also marginally high. Constipation would not lead to liver damage.
Kindly get your abdominal scan done to know if there is any pathology in the liver and consult Physician with the report for clinical evaluation.
If you are habituated to smoking and alcohol intake, liver tissue damage can take place, which could elevate enzyme levels.
Hope the information provided helps.
All the best.
Regards,
