What Causes Low Urine Output While On Prilosec?

I take 20mg of Prilosec daily and 20 mg of rosuvastatin and noticed my urine flow was greatly reduced. I stopped taking both of these drugs and my fluid flow increased. My creatine level is high also-- I have kidney stones in both kidneys. I fell good now-- but I know the heart Dr. is going to say to take the generic Crestor. Any comments???

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Prilosec doesn't affect the urine flow. Rosuvastatin is known to have a side effect of lowering urine output. This is an indication to stop using it. Maybe you should change statines to fibrate.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
