What Causes Lower Abdomen Pulsating Post-partum?

Hi, I am 2 months post partum and noticed about 3 days ago I started having lower abdomen pulsating. It has increased and doesn t feel like my heartbeat as it goes really fast. It doesn t matter what position I am in, I can be standing, sitting, laying and it is continually pulsating. What is this and why does this do this? I am getting concerned as it is so strong and I have started getting a very sore throat and headaches..not sure if those are related.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

After delivery, the uterus contracts and shrinks back to its normal size.
This may cause some lower abdominal cramps, called afterpains.
It is normal,so you should not be worried.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
