What Causes Lower Abdomen, Rectum And Pelvic Pain After Uterus Evacuation?
Please Doctor , I have pain in my pelvic regions, lower abdomen and rectum after three months of evacuation of uterus with no menses. I find it difficult to urinate or deficit due to the pain. I was told I have fluid in the pouch of Douglas, how can it be treated?
Hi The symptoms you describe after a uterine evacuation are not normal but can mean a complication.Complications post uterine evacuation may include infections and perforation. However, it may or may not be linked to the act.Fluid in the Douglas is often seen in cases of pelvic inflammatory diseases and STI infections. These are all possible after a uterine evacuation especially if not well done and if no prophylactic antibiotics given after the act.I will suggest you see a Gynecologist for examination and work-ups.Work-ups like vaginal swap smear test, syphilis, chlamydia tests, a urinalysis and a pelvic ultrasound will be very important here. You will also need a course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications depending on the results of your tests and also on the clinical judgement of your Gynecologist. Hope my answer will help you Best regards
