What Causes Lower Abdominal Cramps After Intercourse?

3.5 weeks ago I had a D&C-the bleeding stopped a little over a week ago and my husband and I had intercourse. Everything seemed fine. Last night we had intercourse again and today I have been having mild cramping very low in my pelvis, not where I'd usually have menstrual cramps. Is this normal? Should I be concerned? I have not had any bleeding.

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Nothing to worry about really, your body may still be recovering. The cramping could be as a result of the sexual activity, and whether or not you have a close history of a D&C, cramping a while after sexual intercourse is considered fine and nothing to worry about.

If at all it continues or repeats or is intolerable, then you should report to your doctor to get yourself evaluated.

Best wishes.
