What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain After Passing A Kidney Stone?

I was in the ER yesterday and they determined that I probably passed a kidney stone after doing a CT scan on me and I was feeling fine by the time I left. They checked my gallbladder because I have had gallstones before and that seemed fine. So I want to know why I got pain back today and this evening. Any ideas? The pain seems to be located in my lower right front of my abdomen.

Hi,

Noted your history of pain in lower right of abdomen today, had CT scan of abdomen a few days back, they thought of passed kidney stone.
The most probable causes I can think about are as follows:
The passed kidney stone though the ureter can cause inflammation and obstruction causing the pain on one side as you have mentioned.
Colitis.
Hernia with obstruction.
Muscle strain and so on.
It is possible to diagnose properly by consulting a General Surgeon for proper in detail clinical examination and correlation with the CT can report.
Also get the tests of blood, urine and stool to help.
Take Antispasmodic for the pain and see the results.
Once a proper diagnosis is done then take a proper course of medications till cure is done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
